streams

I want to sit by a stream
Listen to the trickling of the water
The bubbling and falling of it
Over branches
The slapdashing of it
Across haphazardly sliding rocks and plates
The slickened shale of living things
Breathing in concert
Seeking a peace that is only
Gifted in Quiet.
