Modern Love: First Kisses

The first kiss may be the most aggressive act you commit in any romantic relationship. It alters the boundaries forever.

If you are rejected, then you are left with a knowledge that isn’t yours to have but remains one you must keep.

And, if you are accepted, if it is accepted, you must use that newfound knowledge of the transcendence of the public, private, and intimate to participate in the joining of one human being to another.

Tread kiss carefully.

"Raw," she said. "I want something primal. I want something bare and naked. I want you to give me this life raw, unbidden, unhidden, free, fair, and true. Can you do that? Can you do that for me?"

One may only try.
